Selftape Instructions: S27 Runners

Shoot Dates: Thu 5/28 - Wed 6/3 (1 day, TBD)

Fitting: Wed 5/27 or Tue 6/2 (depends on shoot date)

INSTRUCTIONS

Please prepare the following photos + videos. You will need 1 headshot, 3 videos, and 3-5 photos for your audition.

  • Headshot Color Photo. No hats, sunglasses, or filters. This does not have to be a professional photo. Any recent, nice quality photo.

  • Intro Video: Standing, waist up, 1-2 minutes. Please look directly at the camera and answer the questions listed for your running type.

    • Running Experience: How many miles per week do you typically run, and what races/events are you currently training for? Tell us about a few recent races and/or running accomplishments. What does running mean to you? Bonus: If you have experience with parkour/agility or especially enjoy dodging obstacles while running, let us know!

  • Running Video - Side View

  • Please run across the frame, parallel to camera, so we can see your full profile. Your whole body should be visible. Record in horizontal format.

    • Warm up, stretch, tie your shoe, set your fitness tracker, etc for 5-10 seconds

    • Run (at a comfortable/conversational pace) across the camera frame for at least 20 seconds, then turn around and run back. This should be more than a few strides.

  • Running Video - Front View

  • Please run towards the frame, facing camera, and turn around fully for a back view. We need to see your form from multiple angles. Your whole body should be visible.

    • Warm up, stretch, tie your shoe, set your fitness tracker, etc for 5-10 seconds

    • Run at a slightly faster pace (full stride, not a sprint) across the camera frame for at least 20 seconds, then turn around and run back. This should be more than a few strides.

  • Bonus Video: Agility Run (optional)

    • Show us how quick on your feet you can be, as if you’re running through a busy NYC sidewalk and need to dodge pedestrians and obstacles.

    • You can choose the framing that works best for you. Feel free to use props/cones/people as obstacles. If you’re experienced in this type of running, select the “agility focus” role when you submit your video

  • (3-5) Additional Running Photos: Additional materials showing you running, such as:

    • Real-life photos/videos from races or running events

    • Materials from a previous running shoot or your fitness modeling portfolio

    • If you don’t have modeling or race experience, a few casual photos showing your personal style is fine.

VIDEO GUIDELINES

  • Please run on a road, trail, or track (do not run on grass). Treadmills are acceptable, but running outside is strongly preferred.

  • We must be able to see your full body from head to toe. Please do not record from too far away - the camera should be close enough to see your facial expression. Your facial expression should be relaxed (don’t run so quickly that you strain.)

  • If possible, please have someone else record the video so they can move the camera to keep you in frame as you run.

  • Wardrobe: Please wear fitted running gear so we can see your physique clearly. Long hair should be pulled back and makeup should be light/natural, if any. If comfortable, please wear minimal clothing (shorts and a sports bra or tank top.) We encourage you to show off your personal style with unique clothing, jewely, armbands etc. Hats/sunglasses are ok in the running videos, but please take them off for your intro video.
