Selftape Instructions: Tears for Those Who Fell Before Me

AUDITION INSTRUCTIONS

Please click your role name to download the sides for your audition. You will need to submit a Headshot along with the videos listed. You can also include your acting resume if available (not required).

All materials are confidential and for casting purposes only. Do not share.

Please submit for ONLY the role you were requested for; do not change your role or audition for multiple roles.

  • Full Script (for reference only, please use the SIDES for your audition).

  • Isa pronounced EE-sah (2 scenes, 2 takes each)

  • Oren (2 scenes, 2 takes each)

  • The Man (2 scenes, 2 takes each)

  • Carl (1 scene, 2 takes)

  • Faye (1 scene, 2 takes)

  • Young Oren (1 scene, 2 takes)

GENERAL GUIDELINES (Please Review)

  • SLATE: We do not need a slate for this project. Please do not slate (i.e say your name/agency/etc) at the beginning of your takes.

  • READER: Please use a live reader (someone reading your cue lines from off camera).

  • EYE LINE: You should be facing camera with any props in between you and camera. Your eye line should cross camera slightly, a few inches offset from lens. Looking at your reader is best if possible.

  • WARDROBE/HAIR/MAKEUP: No hats. No glasses, if possible. Makeup should be light/natural, if any. Casual hairstyle. Please do not wear stripes, neon colors, or busy patterns.

  • PROPS: Refer to the sides for your role. No miming, please use real objects whenever called for.

  • BACKDROP: Please choose a neutral background in a light color. It doesn’t have to be a professional backdrop (a wall is fine), but it should be free of clutter. Please avoid green + blue screens. Grey or white are best.

  • VIDEO EDITING: None. Record separate clips for each take. Do not add any text to the videos. Do not add a title card. Do not combine clips into a single video. Recording on your cell phone is great.
