WHO WE NEED
We’re looking for actors age 25+ to assist in an academic research study.
We need actors to portray patrons at establishments serving alcohol. You’d be performing a secret shopper protocol and collecting data. No professional acting experience is required, but some experience/training with scripted work and/or improvisation is preferred.
Please note, the results are for research purposes only. The study is examining the efficacy of safe server training. This is not a sting operation, and no adverse action will be taken against establishments or employees for serving actors appearing intoxicated.
We’re looking for a wide range of actors across all ages, genders, and ethnicities.
PROJECT INFORMATION
TYPE: Research project funded by the National Institutes of Health and overseen by professional research staff.
There is no on-camera component (video or photography) to this project. This is an in-person acting gig, where you will perform a secret shopper protocol and report the results in data collection forms. Training and scripts will be provided. You will be paired with another actor for each shift.
UNION STATUS: Non-Union
SHOOT LOCATION: Portland, OR. You must be local to Portland to be hired.
WORK DATES: Please only apply if you can make yourself available for ALL hours listed for training and field work, if hired.
(Zoom) Training: Fri 10/9 from 1-3:30pm (mandatory)
(In Person) Field Work: 5-10pm on Wed 10/14, Thu 10/15, Fri 10/16, & Sat 10/17
PAY IF HIRED: $30/hr for training and field work (approx 20 hours total). You will also receive mileage ($0.725/mi) and parking reimbursement.
HIRING REQUIREMENTS: Must be age 25+, live in the Portland area, and be legally eligible to work in the US.

HOW TO APPLY
You will need the following materials:
(1) Recent Color Headshot This does not have to be a professional photo. Any recent, nice quality photo. No hats, sunglasses, or filters.
(1) Intro Video Standing, waist up, 1-2 minutes. Please look directly at the camera and answer the following questions:

Please note, since this is not an on-camera project we will be booking you directly, regardless of whether you are represented by a talent agent. Please still make sure your talent agency is updated on your submission, for future consideration.
NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT: By applying for this project, you agree not to mention your involvement in the project, nor disclose to outside parties any details regarding the advertiser, product, or shoot that may be shared during the casting process. Violation of the NDA may result in termination and/or legal action.
