Swoon

CASTING CALL: SWOON

DEADLINE TO APPLY: Sun 11/16 by 11pm Pacific
SHOOT DATES: Wed 3/18-Sat 3/28, Mar 2026 (2 days, TBD)

WHO WE NEED

We need actors for the short film Swoon.

We’re seeking a lead actor to portray a woman with Cerebral Palsy.

THALIA, woman aged 25-45, all ethnicities. Lead role. Character living with Cerebral Palsy.

Thalia is tired of dating. No one seems able to meet her where she’s at, or navigate the complexities of her body. Living with cerebral palsy shouldn’t make intimacy impossible, but finding a man who’s both patient and sexually creative feels about as likely as spotting a Sasquatch. It shouldn’t be that hard to get laid, should it? Beneath her brusque, impatient tone is a woman who’s hungry for connection and shared pleasure.

The script is written for a character with CP but is not limited to that condition. The director is very open to adjusting the script to fit the actor's lived experience of disability if applicable.

We are committed to diverse, inclusive casting. For every role, please submit qualified performers, without regard to disability, race, age, color, national origin, sexual orientation or gender identity, or any other basis prohibited by law, unless otherwise specifically indicated. Performers living with cerebral palsy highly encouraged to submit for the role of THALIA.

Don’t fit these roles? We encourage you to sign up for general consideration.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT Swoon is a story of intimacy, connection, and communication. As a career sex educator and writer, I’m passionate about showing the real, human side of erotic connection. I believe authentic stories about sexuality are essential to dismantle shame and sex-negativity. Bodies are funny and complicated—and so are we. My films embrace the silliness and messiness of exploring what it means to fumble through intimacy with all our quirks and needs.

I wrote Swoon to show how true connection can happen when we allow ourselves to be curious and open-minded about pleasure. When we step away from the scripts we’ve been handed and really listen to one another, intimacy becomes much more than sex—it becomes play, discovery, and care.

Of course, that path is rarely smooth. Scott and Thalia misstep. They bruise each other’s feelings. They get it wrong before they get it right. But when they finally land in sync, sparks fly.

INTIMACY: Please note there is a scene in which THALIA uses a vibrator. A certified intimacy coordinator will be available during production.
